Avua Amburana Cachaca
Country: Brazil
Alcohol: 40%
Type: Cachaca
Avuá Cachaça is an artisanal, small-batch sugarcane spirit from the fourth-generation family business, Fazenda da Quinta, in the highlands of Rio de Janeiro. For the Avuá Amburana, the base distillate is aged for 12 to 24 months in barrels made of Amburana wood. The seeds of this tropical tree are also used as a substitute for tonka bean as a spice - and the wood also imparts this aromatic characteristic to the cachaça.
Tasting note: The Avuá Amburana impresses with intensive and sweet impressions of cinnamon, vanilla and marzipan, which are accompanied by a light floral note in the aroma. The taste is a bit spicier and less sweet than the nose suggests, but more complex.
