Anise Spirits

Pontalier Anis a l'ancienne

Country: France
Alcohol: 45%
The only aperitif that is exclusively distilled from green aniseed. Invented in 1921 by Armand Guy, who thereby circumvented the sudden ban on absinthe. Enjoy these pastis as an aperitif or simply to enjoy the afternoon. This drink conveys the French way of life.
This aperitif will surprise you with its extraordinary lightness. This highest refinement through the distillation of green anise in the centuries-old stills gives the famous Pontarlier anise a fine taste that cannot be found in any other aniseed aperitif.
This Pontarlier anise has won numerous gold medals.

Varnelli L'Anice Secco Speciale

Country: Italy
Alcohol: 46%
First awarded in 1950 as “the best Italian dry anise”, Varnelli is a unique flavor among the Mediterranean aniseed drinks: dry, not sweet, it hooks you at the first taste.
To the Eye: Clear brilliant, transparent, with bluish highlights.
To the Nose: The strong, persistent aromas of aniseed develops into a fragrance of wild fennel, dill and cumin, enriched with floral scents.
On the Palate: All-enveloping, full-bodied, medium dry, it recalls the same strong, persistent aroma found in the bouquet: aniseed, cucumber and wild fennel. The finish is harmonious, which is a sign of excellent quality, and very pleasant.

Lemercier Freres 1811 Pastis

Country: France
Alcohol: 45%
This very dark, comparatively sweet pastis with a strong licorice flavor comes from Fougerolles in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region. It is made in the traditional way through maceration and distillation of carefully selected seeds and plants – including wormwood, mugwort, gentian, liquorice and star anise – and is aged for at least nine months. The Pastis 1811 impresses with its freshness and smoothness. It smells harmonious and shows sweet liquorice notes in the nose. On the palate it develops elegantly and subtly in three phases: from the aniseed note to herbal and floral notes to the liquorice note. Incidentally, its designation 1811 refers to the founding year of the distillery, this pastis has been produced since 1923.
