The term Salvia comes from the Latin word “salvare”, which means “heal”, referring to the healing properties of the herb.
Elevated to the rank of sacred plant in ancient Greece and Rome, Salvia officinalis, commonly called sage, is a herbaceous species belonging to the Lamiaceae family that has been considered as a basic remedy with multiple properties.
Its collection in ancient Rome was carried out under a sacred ritual in order to preserve all its qualities.
Its prestige has continued throughout the centuries.
In addition to having innumerable medicinal properties, sage is considered one of the best known aromatic species in the Mediterranean environment, the sage leaf is rich in flavonoids and an essential oil that gives it an aromatic fragrance.
Salvia Sinc is made with sage grown in the foothills of the Sierra de Mariola, macerated and distilled with the traditional method in a copper alembic.
